Isaiah 59:1-2

Isaiah 59:1-2
1Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear;
2 but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.

Jack Hibb's words after reading verse in October 27, 2013 message titled "Come Over Here - Part 3." Appx.  40 minutes into the message.

I’m talking to Christians. You walking in sin? God wants you to be galvanized, not succumbing to the sin. He wants you to be empowered over the sin. But listen, you’re entertaining these things and not listening to Him. And you want God to bless your life but He is not blessing your life. You want to know why? It’s just like your kid after he cooks the cat. He says, “I want this for Christmas.” Dad says, “We are not talking about Christmas stuff. You just cooked the cat. Go to your room. There’s no talk about gifts.”

Are you with me?
He’s still your kid. But he is not going to get any blessings. He has to go to his room until that thing is cleared up. God does the same thing with us – “God, bless me, bless me, bless me.” No man. When you’re not walking with him, He loves you so much that He withholds his blessings because He does not want to send you the wrong message – “Yo, I’m a backsliding Christian sleeping with bubbles. Life is great. Look at me and how my life is blessed.” No it’s not. In fact, if you are a back sliding Christian, you’re miserable. Every time bubbles comes at you, you want to throw up. You’re not blessed. And God’s not talking to you. He’s not listening to you. He wants you to come back just like He wanted the Corinthians to come back and be part of the family.
